Students are responsibile for the care and return of the library materials they check out.  Failure to do so will result in a fine or replacement fee.  Fines should be paid using exact cash payments or checks made payable to "Woodland Joint Unified School District".  We, unfortunately, cannot accept credit card payments or provide change at this time.  Payments may be given to Ms. GO in the library or Jacob in the front office.

5th Grade Project on California Landmarks

Below are links to resources that our 5th grade researchers can use as they begin their California Landmarks project. As you begin the research process remember to question the resources: are they accurate and current, unbiased, include marginalized voices and appropriate for your project? Just as we know that google translate can give us inaccuarate language translations, the first results in a google search may not be what we are looking for. Look at the date of the last website update, make sure that multiple perspectives are represented and double check the information for accuracy and you will have an excellent research project.

5th grade standards and information on research are listed below and can help you greatly.

California Department of Education- Grade 5 standards: "They recognize that ours is a nation that has a constitution that derives its power from the people, that has gone through a revolution that once sanctioned slavery, that experienced conflict over land with the original inhabitants, and that experienced a westward movement that took its people across the continent."
