Expanding Minds (After-School) Program

2026- 2027  EXPANDING MINDS (after-school) PROGRAM ENROLLMENT

2026- 2027  EXPANDING MINDS (after-school) PROGRAM ENROLLMENT

About the Program

Expanding Minds (formerly known as ASES) provides free after-school care and enrichment for TK–6th-grade students. Programs run every school day until 6:00 p.m. and include:
  • Homework help and intervention
  • Enrichment activities
  • Recreation and play
  • A nutritious snack
Our mission is to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment that positively impacts students’ learning and well-being.

How Enrollment Works

  • Interest Form Required: Families must submit an interest form for each child.
  • No automatic enrollment: Returning families must re-enroll online.
  • Placement notification: Families who receive a spot will be contacted later in the summer.
  • Waitlist: Students are placed on a waitlist by school site. Site leads review the list weekly and notify families when space becomes available.

Priority Enrollment (per state law AB 1567)

  Priority is given to:
  •    Foster youth
  •    Students experiencing homelessness
  •    Migrant students
  •    English learners
  •    Low-income students
After these groups, waitlist priority considers:
  • Sibling already in the program
  • Principal/staff referral
  • Academic need

Enrollment Periods

  • 1st Enrollment Window: April 29– May 29, 2026
  • 2nd Enrollment Window: Ongoing

📌 One interest form covers all elementary after-school programs.
